The Role - Management Accountant

Holding a key position in the Finance Team, this role reports to our Financial Controller and is supported by an experienced Accounts Manager, Accounts Payable Officer, Administration and HR Teams.

You will have a strong work ethic, passion and dedication to providing the best in accounting outcomes. You will be inquisitiveanalytical and investigative by nature.

You will have the opportunity to build rapport with all our staff (farms, maintenance, logistics, sales, marketing and HR) and our vast and varied suppliers.

We utilise sophisticated software and are constantly improving our reporting procedures.

There is a genuine succession opportunity for the right candidate to be promoted to Head of Finance (subject to their suitability and experience) in a relatively short timeframe (3 to 4 years). 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Financial analysis
  • Working on monthly reporting 
  • Working on monthly Board reporting
  • Budgeting and reforecasting
  • Cash management
  • Capital expenditure reporting & project analysis
  • KPI reporting and analysis
  • R&D return
  • Working on Statutory and tax preparation to external accountants
  • Seasonal reporting for winter and summer season 
  • Regular review meetings with key managers
  • Reconciliations 
  • Fixed Asset register

 

Qualifications & Attributes:

About you:

  • Degree level qualifications in business, finance, commerce or similar is desired
  • Membership of a professional accounting body (CA or CPA or equivalent) is desired
  • 5 years+ experience in accounting role/s is essential
  • Advanced Excel skills and financial systems experience is essential
  • Excellent communication skills is essential
  • Seek to achieve the best in business outcomes and be continually looking for opportunities to improve 
  • Attention to detail and strong record keeping is essential.
  • Integrity, accuracy and confidentiality are also essential.
  • Love working in a team environment is essential.
